Our Story
Hi there! We’re Pete and Ben - long-time trail runners, explorers and adventurers.
Between us, we’ve spent decades immersed in the running world. From local fell races to big city marathons, ultra-distance events and full Ironmans, we’ve experienced it all (and got the crappy running top). We’ve been part of the running community for a long time, but we think most events don’t really deliver what people actually want.
What is Tidelines?
Tidelines is an inclusive trail running experience that celebrates exploration over competition. You turn up, we take care of the rest - routes, logistics, accommodation, food, and those little details that elevate the experience.
It’s still a challenge - coastal trails are notoriously punchy. But Tidelines is also about space, comfort and community, and leaving with memories that last longer than a race result. This isn’t about macho suffering for the sake of it. It’s for people who love adventure but also enjoy a touch of luxury. A hot shower, good food and a comfortable place to sleep - no freezing cold campsites here!
Why the coast
We believe the UK coastline offers some of the most beautiful, varied and underrated running trails in the world. Rugged headlands, quiet paths, shifting light, big skies - it’s a place that invites you to slow down, look up, and properly experience where you are.
We’ve been exploring these coastal trails for years, not chasing times, just exploring and discovering, and having fun.
We run together
Trail running isn’t just about PBs, leaderboards or finish-line photos. For us, it’s about movement through wild places, shared experiences, meaningful challenges, and connection to nature, to others, and to yourself.
In recent years, running events have exploded in number, but most are built around competition. Tidelines was created as an alternative.
Tidelines is built on the idea that running is better when it’s shared. We move together, support each other, and create an environment where everyone feels welcome - regardless of pace, background or experience.
It’s not about PB’s or CR’s, it’s about adventure, exploration and connection.
